Collegiate Housing Services offers a shared roommate housing program utilizing apartment communities near your campus. The CHS shared housing program lets you focus on school, classes, work and life in general, while enjoying the benefits of having monthly Student Life Activities, Resident Assistants in most apartment communities, and on-campus housing representatives to help with your housing needs.
|Please keep in mind that placement and/or availability in all options at specific apartment communities cannot be guaranteed in Shared Housing. We use our best effort to accommodate all housing preference requests but please realize that the most popular options fill up quickly and housing preference assignments are considered on a first come, first served basis. Alternative properties may be substituted to ensure that all applicants have housing, particularly if you apply less than 30 days from your intended move-in date. Should we not be able to initially grant placement in one of your preferred choices, please remember that you may be able to transfer apartments once one becomes available.|

SERVICE FEE: Each student is responsible for paying a one-time $180.00 service fee for participation in the Shared Housing program. The service fee is due at least 30 days in advance of move-in. In the event that an applicant decides not to move into CHS, the service fee will be refunded only if a written notice of cancellation is received at least 30-days prior to the original move-in date.
HOUSING DEPOSIT: No deposit required with approved guarantor.
MOVE-IN COSTS: At move-in, a minimum of the first month’s rent will be due. Move-ins occurring on the 21st of the month or after will require a prorated rental amount to be paid at move-in along with the first full month’s rent.

CHS consistently updates a list of pre-screened apartment communities that are available near your campus. In most cases, we've worked out favorable rental rates for students that utilize our services in leasing apartments.
The Independent Housing program assists you in renting your own place directly from the apartment community where you then coordinate the rent payment, furniture and utilities responsibility yourself.

Monthly pricing shown above is based on an entire apartment cost without roommates. Leases are generally 12 months minimum. Furniture and utilities are your responsibility along with additional Application Fees and Deposits. Students rent directly from the apartment community and must meet their standards for income, credit and background screening. APPLICATIONS: Each student is responsible for application fees with the apartment community they choose. Application Fees will vary per property and are typically nonrefundable. Housing applications must be made in advance to any apartment community in order to lock in your apartment. Apartments are subject to availability and are leased on a first come first served basis.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Security Deposits are typically equal to one month’s rent.
UTILITIES: Above Rate estimates do not include utilities. Utility companies typically charge additional deposits.
FURNITURE DEPOSIT: If you choose to rent furniture the rental company will typically charge a deposit equal to one month’s furniture rent.
MOVE-IN COSTS: Expect to pay a minimum of the first months rent at move-in.
